After the surprise that represents when the ultrasound shows that you are expecting twins, the first question that comes to your mind is if they are fraternal or identical twins. Having twins is a very different experience than having a single child, but also having identical twins is very different from having fraternal twins.

Different studies are still being done to know more about how genes behave differently in identical twins than in fraternal twins.  Some of those studies are discussed in the following articles.
